Is Your Inbox Flooded? (Giving Tuesday)

As holiday season begins there are many days devoted to retail gift shopping that run back-to-back promos: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday. On the tail end comes “Giving Tuesday,” a day now devoted to supporting nonprofit work around the world. This single day has become the most crucial day of fundraising of the year to keep programs running into the new year.

If your inbox is as flooded as ours, it gets a bit distracting as you try to make it back-to-work after the long holiday and catch up.

Our team has a very busy week as well: pre-trial hearings, Protest Resolution conferences, field work and more. We are not talking about work we did years ago (or herds we stood for in a courtroom a decade ago, or possibly in years to come) we are talking about now… right now.

WHE has no corporate sponsors, celebrities, or millionaires on the board. Plain and simple, we need your support to keep it all going.

So we will keep it brief.

All contributions to help us fight for wild horses and burros are doubled, dollar-for-dollar up to $10K through November 30th. All contributions (mailer, any page on our website, social media) matched.

Social Media (we can’t keep this brief)

Several of you have asked about Facebook. In years past, Facebook has simply matched contributions on Giving Tuesday up to a certain dollar figure. This year they are NOT running that simple match; Facebook will only match recurring, or monthly, donations after a second contribution is made.. for one time, not on a continuing basis up to 7 million for all of Facebook. They have a whole page devoted to how this years Facebook Giving Tuesday works. Complicated.

WHE has a generous supporter that appreciates that many of you like to use Facebook for Giving Tuesday and rely on that as a “matching day.”

A WHE supporter has offered to match contributions made on Facebook through Giving Tuesday! You do not have to set up recurring contributions to be matched or try to figure out what Facebook is actually matching and when.

If you contribute to WHE through a Facebook fundraiser (that you set up, or to ours) you will be matched through our match challenge and then matched again by our FB donor; your dollar turns into 3!
