STOP the Helicopters (investigate now)

After the little colt broke a leg on the first day of the Pancake Complex helicopter roundup a bill was introduced by Dina Titus (D-NV) to ground the helicopters and task the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to investigate capture methods and disclose the findings to the public. The BLM has repeatedly shirked the most basic of responsibilities: protecting wild horses and burros from abuse.

As the BLM 2020 launches the next round of their ongoing helicopter assault, during the height of actual foaling season in most HMAs, the HR 6635 now has 8 cosponsors

Between now and October, the agency has targeted 8072 wild horses and burros with permanent removal. That number will rise when the fiscal year 2023 budget drops. Helicopter capture will continue full steam through the end of February.

On June 17th Dina Titus (D-NV) took another step and has called for a programmatic hearing after the deaths in Canon City.
