Imagine a future where wild horses and burros roam our public lands in harmony—thriving in strong family bands with access to food, water, and protection that ensures their survival for generations to come. That is the vision that we are striving to make a reality.
This October we have a critical funding challenge we need to meet. Your support is the foundation which makes all of our work possible.
Every recent legal challenge we’ve taken on has resulted in victory. Our recent string of three wins—at Pancake, Blue Wing, and Stone Cabin—has solidified the foundation for “management, not removal.” Now, we await a final order in our case that exposes the truth behind the Bureau of Land Management’s flawed welfare program, paving the way for a genuine, enforceable policy that prioritizes animal welfare once and for all.
At Devil’s Garden, the Judge’s rulings continue to affirm that victory is within reach. Meanwhile, we are waging a critical fight against a massive mining operation threatening vital spring and winter habitat for the Triple B wild horses. Without intervention, destruction of this habitat will lead to starvation, dehydration, and our wild ones will be removed from family and freedom and placed at risk of landing in the slaughter pipeline — something we refuse to allow.
For decades, BLM has catered to livestock interests at the expense of science, data, and ecological balance. The genetically unique Carter Reservoir Mustangs now face extinction-level risks. We are taking this fight to Federal Court to ensure their survival and genetic integrity.
Our advocacy extends to the rugged terrain of Tassi-Gold, Arizona, where burros are unfairly blamed for habitat damage caused by trespass livestock. These resilient animals are being punished for problems they did not create, and we are committed to defending their right to live freely and safely.
From documenting field conditions and roundups to pressing Congress and the Courts for lasting reform, every victory is made possible because of your support.
WHE stands independent—without corporate sponsorships or federal funding, beholden only to the wild ones who depend on us. Together, we can protect their freedom, their families, and their future.
Please help us reach vital end-of-year our fundraising goal and continue our mission of preservation.
Your support fuels every mile, every courtroom battle, every victory for the wild.
WHE stands strong. Together, we stand for them.
We will never back down.
Thank you for keeping WHE running for our wild ones!
