World Animal Day

Today is World Animal Day. The theme in 2025 is “Save Animals, Save the Planet.” World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
At WHE we take this message to heart every single day. To keep wild horses and burros wild, we must protect the land they call home.
This World Animal Day feels even more poignant with the passing of Jane Goodall who pioneered scientific research into the social lives of chimpanzees in Gombe. She also worked hard to empower people to protect animals and the environment“Only if we understand, can we care. Only if we care, we will help. Only if we help, we shall be saved.”

In recognition of the work we do we have been offered a big match to continue funding the big fight for horses.  Every dollar donated will be doubled up to $10,000.! You can double your contribution through October!

In these challenging times instead of backing down, with your help we can double up our efforts! Every dollar will go to continue to fight the unfair and unfettered expansion of mining and livestock into wild horse areas that is taking away critical habit that our wild ones need to survive.  WHE has an incredible team of lawyers who are carrying a caseload of lawsuits never before seen that are beginning to have a significant impact toward keeping horses wild.

WHE is the tip of the spear. We are undeterred and more determined than ever.

Everything we do is possible because of your support. Right now you can double the impact we make together.

During this government shutdown our work must accelerate and not stop.

The words “thank you,” do not begin to express our gratitude.

Help us kick off critical end-of-year fundraising and double your contribution today!
