Happy Birthday Laura!

Today is the birthday of our founder, Laura Leigh. We take a moment to wish her a “Happy Birthday” and extend our gratitude for bringing together the organization, the mission and a dedicated group of volunteers united in our commitment to the integrity of that mission.

Today we know she is working very hard on several legal actions, reviewing all the data from the recent roundup and more. The work of this organization has become a living part of her heart and mind.

Below: Some of the wild ones recently captured at the Pancake Complex roundup are weighing deeply on Leigh today. All of these horses were taken into off-limits to viewing facilities and we know that is her focus today.

A generous donor has offered to match contributions through the weekend dollar-for dollar for Laura’s birthday up to $10,000. The match will apply to contributions made through any venue (website, mailer, the Facebook birthday fundraiser).

“May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields.” ~ Irish Blessing.

Happy Birthday Laura!

Recently Leigh appeared on KOLO 8 News Now as we continue the fight against abuse and to gain fair management on the range. Roundups begin long before a chopper flies. By the time a roundup begins, on range management has failed. The vast majority of our herds do not even have management plans, just removal plans that masquerade as management.

You can learn more about our founder on her bio page.

Thank you for helping us to wish Laura a “Happy Birthday” and supporting the work WHE does through your actions (Action page HERE).
