Breaking! Senators Urge Interior to STOP Sweeping Policy Changes

Letter

Today Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Tom Udall (D-NM) sent a letter to the Department of Interior to “immediately stop pursuing policy proposals or actions unrelated to COVID-19” that require a public comment period.

NV Senators Jackie Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV) have also sent a letter.

We will have more on this developing story soon. Things are moving very fast.

THANK YOU! to all of our members, supporters and readers for taking our action item. We urge you to continue to take the action HERE.

We must make our voices heard! BLM is still pushing through EAs that began as the pandemic began. Several of these proposed actions are, or are in the process of, being approved.

The public has not been given a fair and reasonable opportunity to review and engage. The public is not being given fair access to information.

As wild horse advocates, this includes the release of an additional $21 million dollars to the BLM program. At this time BLM has still not release it’s report that is to serve as underlying justification for any uses of that funding.

More soon.

Can you help us stay in this fight? Our work to protect and preserve our wild horses, and the land they stand, must continue in these chaotic times. We need your support to remain vigilant in our work.
