Wild Horse Education has been honored in a dedication in a new Children’s Book Corazon. of the outer banks. A supporter of our mission, Julie Eley was asked to choose an organization to dedicate the book to. Julie chose us. After the author, Sandra Harvey, reviewed our work she sent us a lovely email and asked if she could dedicate the book to our work. We are deeply honored. Thank you Julie and Sandra.

Great News! I can now officially announce that the author of children’s book, “Corazon of the Outer Banks” (wild horse), Sandra Harvey gave me the great privilege of selecting Laura Leigh & Wild Horse Education as the org. to dedicate her book to, & offers a percentage of the proceeds to them to help save our wild horses & burros! This is a wonderful, heart-warming story of a young boy & a wild horse of the Outer Banks, NC, which ARE protected… This is also Great exposure & Help for us. Please consider this book for your children, etc, knowing that you’re also helping to save our remaining wild horses & burros. Please share to spread the wonderful news and support them all. Sandra is a very deserving & generous author who wants to help & this is a wonderful story, which will also be distributed to NC schools soon. This is just the beginning! THANK YOU So Much to Sandra, illustrator Calum Jones & publisher, Bent Whisker, & to Laura & WHE for their relentless dedication to our horses. This is yet another avenue to better gain attention & expose this issue (Dedication to WHE only on back cover. This is a children’s book..) http://goo.gl/aSp4Dt
I began my dedicated Twitter page, @Save_Our_Horses (Save Our Wild Horses) to focus on & broadcast this issue for higher level support & exposure, including the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act, closing a loophole in the Wild Horses & Burros Protection Act once and for all. Please sign & share the Safeguard American Foods Export (SAFE) Act, & contact non-co-sponsoring Reps to Pass it Now & close this loophole for good, keeping our food and horses safe. Thank you so much.

My story was inspired by the Wild Horses who live in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I fell in love watching them running along the shore. They are protected and cared for by the State of North Carolina, and are free to run wild and play in their natural habitat.
When I learned of the horrific slaughter and abuse inflicted on the western American wild horses I felt paralyzed. I immediately realized that my storybook character could help his cousin horses.
My hope is that Corazon will inspire those who read him to have courage to be brave enough to stand for something. Love for an animal or a person can do miraculous things.
The Artist Calum Jones and I have agreed to donate a portion of every book sale to the organization WildHorseEducation.org
I am deeply impressed by its founder Laura Leighs dedication and love for these horses and will help in every way I can.
