Nevada state-wide Tri-RAC meeting 1/31-2/1

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a meeting scheduled on January 31 and February 1 of 2013 of the statewide “Tri-RAC,” or Resource Advisory Council. The meeting will be held at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel and Casino in Sparks, Nevada.

Nevada has three RACs: the Mojave-Southern Great Basin, the Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin and the Northeastern Great Basin. Each RAC consists of a 15-member advisory panel that provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on resource and land management issues for 48 million acres (67 percent of the state) of BLM-administered lands in Nevada.

Public comment periods expanded during meeting. First comment period Jan. 31, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., second comment period Feb. 1, 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m..

We urge interested public to attend. You can submit data and comments in writing relevant to wild horse and burro management during public comment period. This is a good venue to present written data pertaining to genetic viability, HMA/HA boundary lines, drought and emergency management, tourism, etc.
