N. Lander Release (not a ‘dry eye’ in all of advocacy, happy tears)

Elvis went home!

The North Lander roundup this summer was a painful roundup for so many in the advocate community. Wild horses loved and followed for decades were removed.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, 8 were returned to the Conant Creek HMA and 8 to Muskrat Basin HMA on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Wildlife photographer Jim Brown was among those devastated by the removal. Jim was instrumental in galvanizing the public into action. Many of you participated.

Elvis and Scar went home! We wish the roundup never happened and, just like you, wish they all went back. But the video above brought tears to our eyes.

Today there is not a dry eye in all of advocacy. Everyone has shed a happy tear or twenty.

Thank you to Lynn and Chad Hanson for sending us the photo and videos.

As our team member Colette Kaluza is in the field today documenting the ongoing Triple B roundup and our team lead is working to make deadlines in the ongoing court battles  today… this is a breath of air we wanted to share with you.

All of advocacy must celebrate the small gifts as we fight the hard fights for all of our wild ones. The release of just a few may seem small… but it means the world to those few and brings fresh air to all in the fight.

Happy Thanksgiving.
