End of year fundraising is critical to all nonprofits. Your email inbox is probably filled with pleas from groups involved in advocacy and rescue efforts around the world for issues involving humans, the environment and multiple species. Every nonprofit relies on year-end funding to keep programs running into the new year. WHE is no exception.
Throughout the year we continue to monitor herds and roundups, write extensive reports and articles to help educate the public and lawmakers, do research and provide examples to engage land use processes and, when needed, step up with litigation still working through the courts.
Not only are we carrying litigation to gain enforceable welfare rules and put an end to preventable injury and death, we are also fighting to keep wild horses and burros free, fighting for the herds and habitats they call home. Just this month we filed a lawsuit to protect an historic herd at Stone Cabin from becoming the latest pawn in settlements with livestock permittees trying to force removals.
We have one of our most critical fundraising goals of the year, to meet a 20K match challenge to keep our work moving forward.
Help us keep critical litigation going to stop abuse and unjustified removals. Together, we can make a difference in the coming year.
Thank you for keeping us in the fight!
